Suite & Amenities

The Writer's Nook is a completely, self-contained suite of rooms. Each one has a window and thermostat. The main bedroom features a top-of-the-line, queen, Serta pillowtop mattress, strategically-placed lighting, large closet, chest-of-drawers and clock radio. It is tastefully furnished in tranquil tones of black and beige designed to relax and has interesting artwork from Canada and England.

An adjoining single bedroom with an excellent Simmons Beautyrest mattress is available should it be required for a small additional fee.

In the living/dining area, guests will find an eclectic mix of leather furniture, original art, antiques and modern furniture. There is a 27" stereo t.v., d.v.d., library and dining table which doubles as a useful worktop. Photocopy, internet and fax services are available upon request.


Different than other B & B's, The Writer's Nook has a fully-equipped kitchenette with a large fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and attractive china and silverware. Guests can prepare their own breakfast choosing from a selection of hot or cold cereals, breads, eggs, fresh fruit, teas, coffee, hot chocolate and juice or order a cooked breakfast from mostly organic, local Kawartha Choice foods. Special attention is given to dietary needs.

Different than other B & B's, The Writer's Nook has a nicely-arranged kitchenette with a large fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee makers and attractive china and silverware.  Guests prepare their own breakfast choosing from a selection of hot and cold cereals, breads, eggs, fresh fruit, teas, coffee, hot chocolate and juice.

There is no need to go out for lunch or dinner.  However, there are many fine restaurants and grocery store delis nearby.  Guests can also phone for pizza, chicken or Chinese food.  Dishwashing is not permitted.

The private, ensuite 4 piece bath is well-appointed, spacious and well-lit.
Linens are plentiful and soft.

A hair dryer, lotions, soap, shampoo and conditioner are supplied.
